Origin:

Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers (1940-2007) (Germany, 1993).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 1993 as 'Rosario'.

Class:

Climber, Large-Flowered Climber, Shrub.

Bloom:

Pink. Moderate fragrance. Average diameter 3.25". Small, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Medium, arching. Glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: 47" to 4'11" (120 to 150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for garden, hedge or landscape. Vigorous. produces decorative hips.

Treloar Roses says the blooms of Rosario resemble those of 'Bonica', but are a somewhat deeper pink...
According to the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights (PVR) web page, application for a PVR Grant for this rose was made June 19, 1989 (Application No.ROS311). The breeder's Reference for this rose is Tanoras. This PVR Grant application was withdrawn June 17, 1991.
