Origin:
Bred by Robert Türke (Germany, 1909).
Introduced in Germany by H. Kiese & Cie. as 'Leuchtfeuer'.
Introduced in Australia by Arthur Yates & Co. Ltd. in 1910 as 'Leuchtfeuer'.
Class:
China / Bengale, Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, well-branched.  

Height: 16" to 18" (40 to 45cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
At some point, this rose was apparently confused in (European?) commerce with President Taft, which see. Leuchtfeuer was a brillant red Hybrid China, while President Taft was a salmon-pink Hybrid Tea.
