Jan Barnett. Five Favourite Small Roses. 'Bett's white Delight'. This rose intrigues me. Very slow to get going unfortunately - needs patience. But now it seems to have decided that it does like my garden and is producing lots of heads of blooms. White with a touch of peachy pink in the centre with lots of petals in spring, but as the summer progresses the flowers have fewer petals and are a dazzling 'Persil' white. Is a real picture in the garden when in full bloom.

Gerard Williams. Final Analysis 1999-2000 Miniatures/Patios.
'Bet's White Delight'. Walters 1994; 'Pink Petticoat' seedling; near white; 20 reports on 80 bushes; 1 metre; 7.8 rating. A high rating on this amateur bred rose, which is widely grown. A tall grower for a mini at 1 metre and the growth is upright with good foliage. The plants are healthy and vigorous, although some take downy mildew and there is some rain damage to the flowers. The flowers are good enough for the show bench and can be used for three different bloom types. A good versatile mini.

Gerard Williams. Review of the Newer Roses for the 1998-99 Season.
'Bets White Delight' Walters 1994; 'Pink Petticoat' seedling; near white; 5 reports on 24 bushes; 2-10 years; 90cms; 7.7 rating. We have received more reports this year all good to very good. A tallish grower. with upright growth and good foliage. South Canterbury says at its best exquisite, but it is slow to repeat and prone to black spot. Te Awamutu finds the flowers nice with a good repeat, good colour and reasonably healthy. Northland plants grow well and they like it as a fully open bloom. Bay of Plenty says their plants have freedom of flower with an old fashioned type bloom. The plants are healthy and vigorous but the flowers can ball in the rain. Gisborne says slow to establish but beautiful.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season.
'Bet's White Delight'. Walters 1994; 'Pink Petticoat' Seedling; near white; 2 reports on 10 bushes; 4-9 years; 1.1 metres; 7.9 (interim) rating. Only two reports from Bay of Plenty and Golden Bay and both are enthusiastic. Golden Bay says it grows tall, flowers turn to softest pink, nice miniature. Bay of Plenty says white to creamy white, three distinct bloom types, fragrant, very vigorous, powdery mildew can be a problem.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1996-97 Season. Miniatures/Patios.
'Bet's White Delight'. WaIters 1994; 'Pink Petticoat' Seedling; near white; 5 reports on 21 bushes; 2-8 years; 1.1 metres; 7.8 rating. Combined result from 3 years. Only grown in the Bay of Plenty and Taupo, it is a strong healthy grower like all 'Pink Petticoat' progeny, flowers are very full and the form varies during the season, white to cream in colour, fragrant, some powdery mildew when conditions are right, dark green foliage, upright habit, good for picking with long stems, Taupo had bother with blackspot. It would seem it should be grown more widely.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1995-96 Season.
Miniatures/Patios. 'Bet's White Delight' . Walters. 1994; 'Pink Petticoat' Seedling; near white; 3 reports on 11 bushes; 2-7 years; 1 metre; no rating - too few reports. Bred by Richard and Betty WaIters at Te Puke and is proving to be quite a good miniature white. A Taupo report last year says it has plenty of flowers which last well, blackspot can be a problem. From Bay of Plenty strong vigorous growth, some powdery mildew and blackspot, colour varies quite a lot from cream to pure white and the form varies too from exhibition to rosette formation, excellent repeat. More reports are required from other growers.

'Bett's White Delight' - Betty and Richard Walters. Te Puke. A patio rose which performed consistently most of the time.
