‘Countrywoman’. Hybrid Tea. Bred by Dawson (Australia) and introduced in 1978, this rose is not widely available in other countries. It produces large, shapely, round buds that open to large, flat, yellow flowers with a strong fragrance. The flowers are rather similar to those of ‘Peace’, and the full bloom flowers have good substance. The foliage is mid-green on a vigorous, repeat-flowering bush (Seedling x ‘Peace’).

'Countrywoman' – 1978. Seedling x ‘Peace’. Named in honour of Country Women's Association. Large Flowered Bush rose. Double, fragrant, lemon yellow flowers tinted pink, fully recurrent, strong stems. Deep green, leathery, smooth foliage. Bushy growth. Flower: 90 petals, 100 mm, singly. Bush: 1.5m x 1.2m.

‘Countrywoman’. Modern, large-flowered hybrid tea. medium yellow, repeat flowering. This is a large-flowered variety with globular buds that open to lemon yellow, flat, double blooms. These are borne on a bushy plant with leathery foliage and give a good fragrance. ‘Countrywoman’ is suitable for rose beds and can be propagated by budding. Zones 5-9. Dawson Australia, 1978. Parentage: Seedling x ‘Peace’.
