Gregg Lowery has this to say about this rose: "A rose that appears to have some questions surrounding it, as it was supposed to have had Rosa arvensis or Rosa pendulina in its parentage but appears to be an old Noisette type. Flowers are soft rose pink, blushing deeper, much like the blooms of Old Blush. Loosely double flowers in great panicles. The plant has a tendency to clambor upwards, hence its name ‘Ornament of the Woodlands’." He categorizes it with the Noisettes at the Vintage Gardens website.
