Bloom:
Dark red to violet-red. Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing. Large, glossy, wrinkled (rugose) foliage. 7 leaflets.
Height: up to 9'10" (up to 300cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b. Hardy. very vigorous.

Notes:
Breeder not certain. See References. Jules Gravereaux bought Dr. Müller's collection and seedlings of hybrid rugosas in 1901/02 and introduced some under his name.
