Book (1926) Page(s) 47. 'Chateau de Clos Vougeot' (Pernet-Ducher, 1908): dark velvety scarlet, - darkest of roses, - and very fragrant. Queer, lopsided growth, spreading laterally. Rotelfe (Tantau, 1922) is very similar in color, but just a trifle lighter. The plant appears to be much stronger and more erect.
