"'Climbing Alec's Red' This is a climbing sport of the Hybrid Tea that was originally raised by Cockers of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1973; the climbing form was introduced by Harkness of Hitchin, England in 1975. The large flowers are fully double, with a good Hybrid-Tea shape, deep bright red, and highly scented. The parentage is the Hybrid Tea 'Fragrant Cloud' crossed with the Climbing Hybrid Tea 'Dame de Coeur'. A good all-round red Climbing rose, equally successful in America and in Europe. Stems to 15 ft (5 m). Hardy to -20°F (-29°C), Zone 5."
