The scent on this one, to my nose, is similar to papa meilland’s — very powerful lemon on a base of weak tea. It’s not my favourite rose scent — too much sharpness and not enough sweetness — but it certainly packs a punch.
According to one of the References (see tab) it received the synonym 'Sarah' as a dedication to a Sarah Bentley of a rose nursery in Leicestershire, UK.
I'm wondering about the cold-hardiness of this rose. Does anyone in the big snow country grow this? (We are probably about Zone 5, with a meter and a half snowfall.)
