This rose is described in the Star Roses catalogue of 1963 as "The stunning watermelon-pink of the outer sides of the petals and the shining yellow of the undersides were a striking combination". The photo provided with this caption indeed shows a rose that is bright medium pink on the inner side of the petals with a yellow reverse and another quote from the caption states, "...looked just like the picture at the left ... [where the photo was positioned on the page]".
