Peter Wood reports on the British Rose Festival at Hampton Court.
The rose growers launched eleven new roses.  Raised by an amateur breeder, John Shipway, Anne Marie Laing is a pretty Floribunda with soft pink flowers opening like a camellia.  Introduced by Peter Beales Roses it is named for the wife of neurosurgeon Rodney Laing who is based at the neuroscience critical care unit at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge where John Shipway’s wife received life-saving treatment.
