Echo (Baby Tausendschön) Polyantha. Good, reliable rebloom. Moderate fragrance. Tall. Lambert, 1914. [provenance:] (Santa Rosa Rose Garden). A sport of the famous Rambler Tausendschön, whose carnival of flower colors from rose pink to almost white has ensured its popularity. This dwarf, repeating version of Tausendschön has no rivals.

'Echo' Short Pink to white Remontant P3 H1
Quite different from the other Polyanthas. It was a dwarf, remontant sport from the climber `Tausendschon', and much the same colour, rose pink with a white centre, and a tendency to lose the pink. The flowers were different from the rest of the class, for instead, of the neat blooms of 'Marie Pavie or the pompons which were developing through 'Orleans Rose', 'Echo' had fairly wide blooms with the outer petals curving up to make a bowl-shaped flower. It was introduced by Peter Lambert in 1914. Then came an extraordinary series of sports, from one to the next: 'Greta Kluis', red, in 1916; 'Anneke Koster', red, in 1927; 'Dick Koster', pink, in 1929, culminating in the attractive 'Margo Koster', orange salmon, in 1931
