Origin:

Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers (1940-2007) (Germany, 1988).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 2004 as 'Broadlands'.

Class:

Floribunda, Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.

Bloom:

Yellow. None to mild fragrance. 25 to 33 petals. Average diameter 2.75". Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Short, bushy. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: 20" to 3' (50 to 90cm). Width: 20" to 5' (50 to 150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for ground cover. Drought resistant. heat tolerant. Disease susceptibility: susceptible to disease. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. Colette Tremblay, in Canada, says she purchased this rose under its synonym 'Canicule'. She says it is low, free-flowering, yellow semi-double blooms, and glossy foliage. It lacks a strong fragrance and the yellow color can fade in the sun.

Pépinières Loubert's 2002 Catalogue lists this rose as a Floribunda with a date of circa 1980.
