I've grown a grafted Distant Drums in a 20 inch whisky barrel for one season in New Mexico, and it has been EXTREMELY vigorous and generous with the flowers. (Lots of pics posted in the photo gallery). The turnaround between flushes is quick, and overall, it just exudes health and energy. The plant was a 3 gallon from Weeks Roses, purchased locally. I imagine it's on Dr. Huey, but I'm not positive. It's growing with its back against a wall, getting sun until about 2 pm, and it gets VERY hot here, much of the summer was high 90's and sometimes triple digits. That said, it drank a ton of water over the season. All of the flushes were spectacular. I'd been hearing about this rose for years, and I'm a big fan now.
