Bloom:
White, lilac stripes, pink stripes.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), button-eye, globular bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Upright.  

Height: 47" to 4'11" (120 to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 8b.  Prune after flowering is finished.

Notes:
Habsburg, Charles V of Spain, Holy Roman Emperor. Born 1500 Ghent, Netherlands. Died 1558. King of Spain 1516-1556. King of Low countries 1506-1555, abdicated. Retired to a villa next to the monastry at Yuste in Spain. He spent his last years there worshipping God, eating heavily, listening to music, and dismantling and assembling mechanical clocks.


Pépinières Loubert's 2002 Catalogue classes this rose as a Centifolia and provides the date 1856.
'Charles Quint' at Sangerhausen seems to be mislabeled (see References)
