Florentina is such a great rose, I sprouted a couple seedlings. This is the first to bloom. It is more coral colored, blooms in terminal clusters like the parent. August 9, 2025, Zone 7a, Provo, Utah, USA
Within limits. It would be prudent to check that the name you have in mind isn't already in use. It annoys me that some of the big firms re-use names (cheaper to register them that way?), and declare a rose extinct - even when it's still around - so they can use its name.
I'm in the Oakland hills where we get quite a bit of fog at night that settles here. I've got a spot that gets about 6 hrs sun in the AM, and shade in the PM. Based on your experience, do you think Florentina would do well? Thanks so much.
Thank you for your reply! One more question: how’s repeat blooming for you? The description here says occasional repeat later in the summer but bloom frequency is rated ‘excellent’ by reviewers… Thanks again!
