Farbenvererbung bei Rosa moyesii
Rosa moyesii scheint die grellrote Farbe nur durch die Eizelle zu vererben und nicht durch das Pollen (S. G. A. Doorenbos, Niederlande).

Color inheritance at Rosa moyesii
Rosa moyesii appears to transmit the bright red color only through the ovum and not by the pollen (S. G. A. Doorenbos, The Netherlands).

Info says "Origin: Discovered (1903) by E.H. Wilson. " however it was infact brought to Europe in 1890 by the british missionary J Moyes who sent seeds to Louis L. Vilmorin and it was introduced as a garden plant in 1894.. Wilson just descripted it in 1903.

We believe that E.H. Wilson was actually in China visiting Reverend Moyes. The connection Moyes-Vilmorin is found on a Swedish website. Do you know of any references in literature?
