An earlier post by Fredriik says that "I grow this one in Sweden". It states that the rose did very well in a cold winter minus 25-26 degrees. HMF has it as Zone 6b and warmer. Should a change be made to the Zone posted?
Has anyone grown this with its parent veilchenblau? If so, how close is the color? Is it really just as described, a repeating veilchenblau or was there some color sacrifice (ie. more pink\red) for the repeat blooming trait?
I'm interested to know, too. I'm sure that it takes a few years to achieve its color though. Veilchenblau, and its offspring like Bleu Magenta, Violette, and Rosemarie Viaud all take a few years to settle before their blue colors really show up. Before that they are quite pink.
I grow this one in Sweden. The winter of 09/10 was extremely cold with minus 25-26 degrees for at least two weeks. Perennial blue did very well despite this. Completely unprotected, there was only very little that had to be cut back. Seems like a tough one.
