Website/Catalog (1960) Page(s) 1. Hybrid Peony—1960 Introduction Prairie Moon This new second generation hybrid peony was produced by Mr. Orville Fay from a cross of Laura Magnuson and Archangel. We consider it a privilege to include this fine variety in our listing. The flowers are large semi-double, very clear light yellow with no markings. They have excellent substance making them ideal in the garden or as cut flowers. The plant is a vigorous grower with extra strong stems of average height. The leavers are bright glossy green and retain their color until frost. Blooms with the early hybrids, in late May or early June in the Chicago area. Produces an excellent root system which divides easily. Divisions planted in fall usually bloom the following spring. The first year the plant produces beautiful single, cup-shaped flowers. On established plants the flowers are semi-double. This is a rare novelty and only a few are available this year. Please order early. $35.00
