'Viking Chief' peony References
Website/Catalog (2025) Includes photo(s). Viking Chief Description Semi-double, large flower opens deep rose pink. On mature specimens, blossoms appear nearly double. Large, broad petals, grade smaller and narrower inward, surrounding a ring of yellow stamens with a tuft of petals within. Brilliantly pigmented pink petals with random spots and flecks fade in the sun. A dependable bloomer with plenty of color on a generously large, medium height bush. Good plant habit and vigorous. Well-covered bush of deep green foliage from top to bottom, remains attractive for most of the growing season. Strong, long stems carry the flowers near the foliage canopy. Mechanical support is recommended for the best results. Furnishes good stems for the vase and makes a beautiful choice for the cut flower garden.
