Monsieur Jules Elie (Crousse).  9.3.  Pink.  One of the largest and most beautiful of peonies.  In fact it is the largest of the Globe type varieties.  An immense self colored flesh pink shading just a trifle deeper towards the base of the petals.  Great prominent broad guard petals enclose an immense ball of incurved narrower petals of the same color, all covered with an intense silvery sheen.  In our opinion one of the best of all the bomb type peonies.  This variety resembles a great Chrysanthemum.  A long keeper as a cut flower.  On the Chicago market it is the greatest early pink cut flower sort.
