Origin:

Bred by George Mander (Canada, 1995).
Introduced in Canada by Select Roses in 1995 as 'Golden Beryl'.

Class:

Miniature.

Bloom:

Orange and yellow. Mild fragrance. 15 to 25 petals. Average diameter 2". Prolific, continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.

Habit:

Height: 15" to 20" (40 to 50cm). Width: 1' to 16" (30 to 40cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Breeder's notes:

It is a yellow blend whose colour depends on the weather. In cool weather it is a clear yellow but in warmer, sunny weather, the yellow is brushed with tinges of orange to orange/red. Medium sized blooms with heavy petal substance and excellent form. Plant habit is bushy and compact with very clean, shiny foliage. This was the result of my first experimental crosses with 'June Laver' in 1992-93. When I saw great potential in this parent combination I went all out and bought 55 more June Laver plants to use as seed parents, all grown in 2 gallon pots. Next came my "BEST" rose ever hybridized the mini 'Glowing Amber'.
