Would anyone have access to a copy of Journal des Roses Vol 23 (1899)?
I am hoping to check the original wording of a reference.

Billy, go to Gallica.BnF.fr on the internet and search for Journal des Roses. They have all issues from 1877-1914

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site. I was wondering if people know of any books like Thomas Christopher's 'In search of Lost Roses' or Andrea di Robilant's 'Chasing the Rose'?

I do have manuals and guides but I wanted some adventures...

Thank you!

I can not find (not listed in Gardening Publications ..) the book Le Rose Italiane by Andrew Hornung although some roses have references from that book. For this reason i can not fill the entry "Publication" when trying to load other references.

Bruna, I found it by asking for Hornung in AUTHORS, then going into PUBLICATIONS AUTHORED. It might just be that "Roses" or "all" [?] was not selected when the publication was opened initially. I am unable to help further, because, for me, just right now there is no EDIT button in the Le Rose Italiane file. Perhaps Admin can advise us.

Thank you. Somehow I can "reach" the book but I can not add new roses referenced in it. The title of the book is not linked to the publication list through which you select a publication when adding a new reference.

Try going into the rose first, then REFERENCES, ADD NEW REFERENCES, then in PUBLICATION, search for Le Rose Italiane. Then you can add the text.

done many times but in PUBLICATION Le Rose Italiane is not listed and in fact it says "no matches found for your publication " ... apparently this book is not linked here

It is for me Bruna. I have just added a test reference in the rose 'Lucetta' (and which I will delete tomorrow). If you are still having problems, contact Admin with a Private Message.

Hi,
I found a reference to an article by Leen Leus on the page for Kathleen Hybrid Musk rose: Resistance Breeding For Powdery Mildew and Black Spot in Roses. But there's no link on the page for the article.

I did find the plants referenced page, and the ploidy listing for a lot of roses, very useful. But it looked like there should be a link to the actual artlcle, and I didn't find one.

Our references will almost always cite the source and we provide as much detail as known (to us anyway) but the content of an article is often not available for various reasons. Now that's a different issue from us having a link to an article and the link no longer working. That we can investigate and often rectify.
