Chinese tree peony bed, W. E. Upjohn Peony Garden, Ann Arbor. May 27, 2019. The year 2019 was an unusual one locally for intensity of color in all the peonies I saw that year. This peony was no exception. Blooms of Da Zong Zi usually are much lighter in color.
