Book (1980) Dr. A. S. Thomas. Rosae et Cetera. p24. Roses on sale in London are almost wholly 'Sonia', 'Bingo' and 'Minuette'. Even in the summer they are all from "glasshouses" - young, tight blooms. They and the foliage are free from damage. They retail at about 90cents (Australian) a bloom even from street barrows, in the summer when roses are blooming in home gardens.
p26. No one could explain to me why.... Minuette is almost unknown to the French public.
p27. In the millions of roses sent to Aalsmere by Israel, 'Sonia' predominates, of course, followed by 'Bingo', 'Visa', 'Minuette' and 'Korgold'.
