Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1882 as 'Marie van Houtte'.
Introduced in United States by Conard & Jones Co. in 1903 as 'The Gem'.

Bloom:

Cream, pink shading, pink edges, buff undertones. Moderate fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Bushy, upright.

Height: 3' to 9' (90 to 275cm). Width: 3' (90cm).
