Origin:

Bred by Eric T. Welsh (1929-2004) (Australia, before 1993).

Class:

Floribunda.

Bloom:

Yellow. Mild fragrance. up to 45 petals. Average diameter 3.25". Medium, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.

Habit:

Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy. Medium, glossy, medium green foliage.

Height: 30" to 43" (75 to 110cm). Width: 39" (100cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Treloar Roses says Victoria Gold is Victoria's rose of the year. It is released to commemorate the centenary of the Victorian Rose Society in 1999, the first Rose Society in Australia... this rose has double bright yellow blooms... In the cooler months the blooms have a fine red pencil edge...

Ross Roses says 'Victoria Gold' (WELgold) resembles its parent 'Gold Bunny' but is much deeper in color.
