I received this beautiful miniature in a pot for Mothers Day. I am wondering if it can be planted in a flower bed as a perennial. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Would the winter be too cold for it to survive? Right now it is on my front porch dealing with the elements of nature. Should I keep it in the pot and bring it in to winter?
There doesn't seem to be any end to the flowers!! What a lovely bush/plant. Thank you to anyone who can answer this for me.

I have not grown this rose personally, so my answer is based upon the information on the rose page and general knowledge. The rose page says 'Red Cupido' is hardy to USDA zone 6. This means the rose is hardy to -6 degrees F without winter protection.
However I would winter protect the crown of the plant and make sure that winter winds do not dehydrate the canes.
As for keeping it in a pot and bringing it in for winter, this is a practice many people follow, but make sure you put it out on sunny days. Maintaining a rose indoors takes a lot of TLC. Most miniature roses survive the winter very well without a lot of winter protection. Since the rose was hybridized in the Netherlands, my guess is that this is a hardy rose and can survive the cold.
