Good Morning, ´Painted Moon' is bred by Colin Dickson not by Patrick Dickson

Do you have a reference to Colin Dickson as being the breeder?

I believe that the parent is 'Bonfire' aka 'Bonfire Night' from McGrdy in 1971. The current shown parent known as Bonfire is a red rambler from the early 1900s, which would not likely produce an end product such as 'Painted Moon'. Also, the breeder has used the 'Bonfire' I suggested in other crosses of theirs. For example, Tequila Sunrise.
So, while I do not have empirical evidence that I am correct, I do think that my suggestion is more probable than the currently stated suggested parent.

There is also written evidence to support this change, if you take a look at the REFERENCES.

The growth of this rose is stiff and upright, it's not a nice looking shrub. It turned out to be quite susceptible to disease in my garden in the Pacific Northwest (blackspot). In real life the colour of this rose doesn't look at all like what I've seen in pictures. I was quite disappointed with it's colour. To my eye, the colour is harsh and garish at any stage. I have since taken the shovel to it and it is no longer part of my garden.

Hi.. I,m about to try growing' Painted moon' in a large container this summer. I know it,s a hybrid tea, but I was wondering how hardy/delicate this rose is? I live in Hamilton, Ontario, about a zone 5 or 6.( I,ll still protect it in winter..) Where do most people have the best success with this rose?( hot climates, cooler climates..) Has it got a nice fragrance? Are there any wierd and 'wonderful' diseases I need to watch with this rose? Lastly, I originally wanted to buy' Perfect Moment', a different hybrid tea,I had admired the coloring of, but settled for this one, because it was the closest I could find, to match the coloring, and that I could find as available in my area.( -it looked similar in the catalogue..) If anyone is familiar with 'Perfect moment'( Kordes hybrid 1991), and are also familiar with 'Painted moon' (Dickson,1989), I,d love to hear what any of you have to say about them. Since 'Painted moon' is the one I,m getting in the mail soon, I guess, I need to know more about that one. Thank you, Lenage.
