This rose has done very well for me as a potted patio plant in Alubuqerque, NM. Planted as large 3 gallon in less than optimum shape after a stressed-out stint at the local Big Box store, my Flying Kiss has thrived, putting out new growth and multiple flushes, even through days of 100 degree-plus heat. The blooms are sweet and romantic in shape, either individually, or in small clusters. I'm planning on putting this plant in the ground in the fall, (where I'm sure it will do infinitely better), but for now, it is a hard-working, gratifying rose to have in my patio repertoire.
Thanks for a fantastic review. The breeder Ping-lim also bred fantastic hardy & cold-tolerant roses. Roses that can withstand extreme hot & dry are more likely to survive extreme cold. Gorgeous climber with purple blooms are hard to find. How's the scent on that one? Thanks.
