In a secluded farming valley just outside the Catskill Blue Line, about 2000' in altitude. About 2 acres of sloping garden with an obscene number of fruiting trees, etc., and as many roses amd japanese maples as we get in the ground and through the winters! While our official hardiness zone is 5a/b (zoomed into the smallest possible range the 5a/b line bisects our garden), we hit -23 in January of 2025 and had snow pack from the weekend after Thanksgiving '24 through March of '25. Doing all of the zone pushing I can with my zone 5 plants, but lean towards the safety of Z4s.
