Bayou is not German, but a term from Louisiana USA for flat wetlands found there. So it is originally a French word from USA. "Bajou" is incorrect, but used by many nurseries as a spelling variant.

I realize this thread is old, but "Blue Bayou" is also a song, written and first recorded by Roy Orbison, then later by Linda Ronstadt.

Thank you for this information. We have added 'Shonan Fantasy' too. For breeding year we use the earliest known dates, not the introduction. Could 'Creamy Mimi' be the same as 'White Mimi Rose' in our database? This rose starts off cream and the ages to white.

The link "Bridal Fantasy breeding year" in the Notes shows that there is further information by Kanagawa Prefecture on rose bred there. Unfortunately, we cannot speak Japanese in order to be able to browse through this information.
