The collection of roses in the National Arboretum "Sofievka" (official name "The National Dendrological Pfrk "Sofievka" of the National Academy of Sciences" contains about 600 cultivars of Ukrainian and foreign origin.

Unfortunately, the breeder is unknown. Klimenko & Rubtsova (1986) describe 'Elegia' as an Asian cultivar by folk breeding.
