Peter Hinner (3.10.1897 - 16.04.1985) is the son of the German rose breeder Wilhelm Hinner. Peter Hinner emigrated to the United States in the 1920ies. He set up a rose nursery at Woodstock, Illinois together with the Bauské brothers, German immigrants as well. They formed the nursery Bauské Bros. & Hinner.

The typing of the name is wrong. The introduction name of this cultivar was Helene (without the accents) Cordes. It lost the "Cordes" already shortly after its introduction. Helene Cordes was the wife of the head of the Ohlsdorf cemetary at Hamburg, Germany, which hosted a rather prominent rose garden at the time of introduction of the rose.

the correct name of the nursery is (was) Münch & Haufe, not "Hause", as it is listed.

For m opinion, the photo does not show "'Gruss an Zabern', the flowers seem much too yellow.
