Eddie's Crimson more than paid for this structure that it is climbing on in my garden in 2023. Eddie is just a bit past peak color but still gorgeous.

I photographed this plant in Grendale, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwakee. Aluminum clothesline is inconspicuously attached to the building so that I could attach the plant. When grown in the open, this plant exhibits slight tip dieback over winter (in the 1970's).

I was so enamored with Eddie's Crimson that I arranged these flowers in 2003. Little did I know that Eddie's Crimson would play such an important part in the development of my rose introductions.

I am surprised by the ARS classification as mauve. This rose blooms in shades of very dark velvety red to a deep cool pink as this picture shows - in my climate.
