To Anne's Rosebuds: While searching on HMF, I saw that you have a rose named Lilac Charm and are located in Marysville, CA. I live in Livermore, CA and grow this rose as well. While the rose appears to be disease free in my area, I'm disappointed in how the bloom color fades so quickly to a grey white even in cool weather. Do you have the same experience with the blooms? My rose is two years old (own root). Thanks, Karen

To Ann's Rosebuds: While doing my usual searching on HMF, I noted that you have Lilac Charm. I live in Livermore (about 40 east of San Francisco) and have been disappointed in the color of Lilac Charm. While the bush appears healthy and has reasonable foliage, I find that the color quickly fades to a gray white. This appears to happen even when the temperature is cooler. What is your opinion of the rose and does the color fade for you? I believe that your temperatures are much warmer than mine.
Thanks, Karen

I discovered this evening that there are several rose photos posted by "Ann" (see profile: http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=99.19832&tab=8 ) that are in fact my photos. (Lyn Gold, Suntan Beauty, Trinket and Twister) These should be properly credited if they are to be used on HMF, thanks.

We'll look into this Paul. Are these duplicates of photos you have uploaded too ?

I don't believe these photos are represented elsewhere on HMF, no.

Paul,
We have removed these photos. We noted they were all several years old and in each case the first photo uploaded for each variety. Our guess is this member was eager for HMF to include photos for these varieties and meant no harm.
Also, since then we have done a better job of making it clear photo contributions must be from the photo's owner or one must have explicit permission from the owner. We apologize for this copyright infringement on HMF.

Hello Ann, I wanted to contact you and let you know that the photos of Trinket, Lynne Gold and Twister (and Suntan Beauty, which HMF staff has deleted) you have uploaded to HMF are in fact my photos, which were licensed to The Uncommon Rose years ago for their web site. I have contacted HMF personnel to let them know that these images need to have proper credit assigned. Are you aware that HMF policy states that you are not supposed to upload photos that you have not taken yourself?
Best wishes, Paul Barden
