To the breeder's daughter & grandson;
I misplaced your number, but the good news is I have a plant ready for you. My number is on my front page.

Hi, Mike! That was me from 7 years ago and still looking for Apache Tears! I'm sorry I missed this from so long ago and that you had a plant ready to go. Can we try again? Email: tooch32@hotmail.com.

This is my 2nd year with this rose, and I am really impressed! It is now hovering near 7 feet in height, and is just covered in blooms. This was a 1 gallon own root last year, so the growth is very impressive. Was much more winter hardy (zone 5b) than I expected.

Mike, do you still have the Imperatrice Farah rose?

Found this at a florist shop. Rooted very easily. Have not yet determined its garden-worthiness. Will be potted up in spring 2007 and tested.

Well, Mike -- how did it do? It's available here in florist shops now. Almost purchased it today.

Hi Kathy,

I would guess it would do much better for you than it did for me. It just could not handle the winters no matter how much I protected it. I finally gave up and tossed it last spring.

I was wondering if it was bred out of Leonidas. It apparently has a sport that blended, which immediately made me consider the Peace line, which Leonidas is directly from. Maybe that's why its weak (Leonidas is in most climates).

I am searching for a source from which I can purchase Magic Lantern Gr. rose. Does anyone know of such a source?

Besides the nurseries listed on the "Buy From" tab you will find HMF can help you locate a source several different ways - see the How Do I button for details.

Douglas,
This rose, unfortunately, is not available anywhere in the states yet. It is currently under patent protection, which makes it harder to get since the patent is owned by J&P. I have been tasked with getting some plants to Roses Unlimited in order to get this into commerce, but that will still be quite awhile until plants would be ready.
