Extremely healthy and vigorous. Rivaled only by the Generous Gardner for performance and growth. Almost thornless. Not as much fragrance as most other Austins, but a workhorse of a rose bush in my garden. Blooms are on the smaller side compared to my other D.A.s, but a very charming shape and form. I love it!

Considering this for a north-facing wall. How often would you say it re-blooms?

It is a late reply, but for the information for the others, it is not very thorny, just a few thorns on the stems, pretty much like most of the other Austins in Leander line.

I loved the pictures of this rose so much that I finally ordered it. If anybody has experience with it, I'd really appreciate all tips and information you could share. My email is LoraTW619@aol.com if you'd rather contact me directly...and thanks for any help.

Does anyone know where this rose can be ordered in the United States?

Thanks.

I don't think this is available yet in the US, but if and when it is it would most likely be through Heirloom Roses (heirloomroses.com) or Palatine Nurseries (Canada, but ships to US). They both carry a lot of Harkness roses, including his newer introductions. I would contact Heirloom and ask them if they can get plants for next year, or as soon as possible. Barring that, contact Harkness in England and ask who will be selling this variety in the US and when.

I saw you posting on Help Me Find and I don't know if you knew it yet, but Pickering Nursery in Canada now carries the Hybrid Tea rose Chandos Beauty. If you still want it I would suggest you order it soon before they sell out of them.
