This photo does not the description here of a double flower with 17-25 petals.

You're right, this description does not match. Though the label which is attached to this plant in Sangerhausen says Brindis, Dot, 1962.

In "Climbing roses of the world" by Charles Quest-Ritson (2003, 247) Brindis is described as follows: "'Brindis' has small clusters of scentless, single flowers. They measure 5-6 cm across and are crimson with a white center". So maybe the description on hmf is wrong? Are there any further sources?

The description in HMF was incorrect. The reference says single flowers.
