Per site rogersroses.com, parentage for 'Salammbo'/DELperl = {(‘Dame du Feu’ X ‘Guinée’) X (‘Tenore’ X ‘Fugue’) X (‘Grimpant Delbard’ X ‘Gloire de Dijon’)} X {‘Rouge Meilland’ X ‘Soraya’}.

Yes, sound most probable that there was not a sister seedling of 'Messire Delbard' with the same complex parentage.

Could it be that Rosa pimpinellifolia plena and Rosa spinosissima plena are the same? See both rose in HMF.

It is possible and very hard to determine, as the French name is cited only in Vibert's catalogs from the early 1800s. The naming of Hybrid Spinosissimas is a terrible mess.

Could it be that Comtesse de Chaponnay and Comtesse de Chaponay are the same rose? Per data on both roses, it seems so.

It is. I owned it eons ago. Its like a more complicated version of Laura Ford. I didn't keep it, however. Forgot why.
