I need to rephrase my earlier post. I am searching for Louis or Louise , Betty, Madeline, Martha, and Rita or Reta Bugnet Roses. These were all bred by the late Georges Bugnet from Canada. These were once in the Commercial Commerce but have fallen out. I know Ashdown Roses has Louis as I am currently wait listed for it. Therese and Marie Bugnet are Iron Clad Hardy for me here in Alaska. Growing Roses here can be a challenge at times and is why I am seeking these other Bugnet Roses. Georges Bugnet used R. accicularis in many of his crosses and is the wild species rose here in Alaska. Does anyone know who might carry these Roses? or does anyone know who might have these in thier private Garden ?

Sundog, I had another idea, although I don't know if these roses will be any more available than the hybrid rugosas you are looking for. I also don't know if they will be as hardy.
Look at the descendants of Rosa acicularis under the Lineage tab here: http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=5251
There is quite a list of interesting hybrids and a few more suppliers.

I have heard of a nursery near Anchorage which sold some Bugnet roses. Contact the Alaska Rose Society for help also.

I am a member and past Board member of the Ak Rose Society. The nursery you mentioned I know of and only has one they sell as Mrs. George Bugnet, which i have. Interesting though there is no mention of a rose named by this in Georges Bugnet list of hybridized roses nor is it listed in Modern Roses 10.

I am curious as to your listing of the ' Anne Bugnet' Rose. Where did you get the information from? My understanding is that there is no Anne Bugnet rose bred by the late Georges Bugnet. Hope to hear from you.

Many of the additions to our rose database are provided by volunteers who have expertise in various areas of roses. The information provided for this rose was entered by David Elliot who knows more about the Canadian roses than other members of the team. If you have some information you would like to share, please feel free to forward it to us.

Hi Lyn, Reason I asked is I am searching for all the 'Bugnet' series of roses bred by Georges Bugnet. I have been in contact with the Canadian Rose Society Librarian, Anne Graber. I had asked here if she new anything about Anne Bugnet as I found it on this site. She was wondering if Help Me Find would let me know the source of the information. I am waiting to hear from Arnold who I understand has done exstensive research on Georges Bugnet and the Roses he bred. I will ask him for any information he might have on it.

Hi, Sundog. Using the Roses search features of HMF, you can search for Bugnet roses both by the breeder, Georges Bugnet, and by name, Bugnet. Start here: http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/roses.php
From the results of a search of "Contains" Bugnet, I see a few public gardens that grow the roses you are looking for. If you are really motivated, try to get a rose nursery that specializes in hardy roses interested in those varieties and work to supply them with propagation material from the public gardens. These projects can take a year or two. I suspect your first job is to find an interested Canadian nursery. You can search for Canadian nurseries here: http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/nurseries.php
Good luck.
