I would like to add my question to my brother's below - why did you name this rose Mary Johnston? Our mother is almost 78 years old. John and I both raise roses and would really like more info on this one. Please help!
Thanks ever so much,

I am looking for information about the Mary Johnston rose. I found your name on Help Me Find as a source for this particular rose. My mother's maiden name is Mary Johnston and I would really like to find this rose. I grow roses here in Dallas and would like to add it to my collection if you can tell me where I can find it.
Thanks so much,

This is a funny little rose. Mine is 2 years old, about 4' high and 3.5' wide and has been in a container since I bought it. It bloomed tremendously early this spring and then was infested with spider mites so badly I thought it was all but dead. Just as I started to pull it out of its pot, I noticed new growth - leaves and buds(!) both. That was about 2 weeks ago. Now it is again loaded with buds and about to bloom again. This is a truly remarkable plant having survived the mite infestation and last year's hot dry summer here in Dallas. It gets my recommendation! Sorry to say I just lost this great plant to the spider mites again. So I want to edit my recommendation. I loved it while it lasted, though.
