Opened by Benjamin Hurst Snr in 1773 and remained in the Hurst until being sold by Dr C.C. Hurst to George Geary in 1923.

I'm trying to locate the "Charmaine" rose. Can you please let me know where I might be able to buy it from? I'm in Australia.

Unfortunately at this point in time, according to the Buy From tab for the Charmaine entry, Charmaine is currently only sold commercially in Germany and Holland. Indeed the only Geary rose seemingly still in commerce in Australia is Mrs George Geary (available from Thomas For Roses in SA)

I am looking for information on a rose named "Ruby Morn" that was bred by Burbage in 1930. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daniel Taylor, USA Oregon

There was a 'Rosy Morn', which you will find in HMF. 'Ruby Morn' seems unknown.

Thank you, I think you are correct. Daniel. Do you have any more information on this particular rose? There is no photo or other details. Supposedly it was in a French Public Garden at one time but no longer. Any help would be appreciated. Daniel

Usually everything we know about a rose is listed on the website. We include roses with little information hoping people in the rose community will contact us with more details. If you learn more please share it with us.

The reason I ask is that I bought a property a few years ago that had several roses on it. I just found an old wooden tag on one with the inscription "Rosy Morn" on it.... (At first I thought it was "Ruby Morn") but I cannot find any other information beyond what you have cited here. It is a very beautiful pillar-type rose, with a repeat bloom. Blush red to coral, fragrant, and hardy.

I will post a photo if any one is interested.

Thanks, Daniel

Daniel, by all means, post a photo on the Rosy Morn page.

And propagate this rose: it might be the only one left worldwide!

Just in case your "blush red to coral" Rosy Morn could possibly be the "clear pink on white ground" Alister Clark 1914 'Rosy Morn', I have put some older references in the comments section of the 1914 Alister Clark's 'Rosy Morn'. We are trying to get a 1928 black and white picture into the file as well.

You should be able to see that 1928 b&w photo now.
