Aksel Olsen (August 6, 1887 - 1982) took over the nursery Kolding Planteskole from his father, Thomas Olsen. He was succeeded in the 1960s by Anna Thora Olsen, one of his five daughters. In 1963 most of the nursery grounds were bought by the municipality as a botanical garden (Geografisk Haves).
