Antoine Geoffre, florist gardener, born December 3, 1813 in Prissé (Saône et Loire, France) son of André and Françoise DUBIEF married on August 11, 1849 in Marseille with Claudine Marie BOURAT born December 3, 1820 in Longssaisigne (Loire, France) daughter of Jean-marie and Jeanne ECLAIREY From 1850 to 1863, he was director of a horticultural establishment called “Les Serres du Prado” in Marseille.
He is credited with two HP rose: -’Dr Spitzer’ dedicated to Maximilian Joseph SPITZER, doctor of medicine, born in Miskholz (Hungary) on April 16, 1794, son of Charles Ferdinand and Marie Madeleine ROSAS married April 21, 1831 in Marseille-Reg 1 Joséphine Zoé COSTE born on March 25, 1802 in Marseille to Jean Baptiste Dominique Anicet Coste and Rose Pierre UNANT. - La phocéenne : Marseille is often nicknamed Phocaea after the city in Asia Minor from which the founders of the city came in 600 BC
