Translation:
...on July 14 [1984], the Nordic Rose Society started an excursion in Jutland. Following this, Ernst Loménius visited the nursery of Ellen and Hugo Lykke in Söby, where he made a surprising discovery. During the walk through the assortment planting he observed his well-known suionum - with the label of acompletely different neme, namely 'Minette'! Hugo Lykke was able to state with pure conscience that the grafting risers for this had come from the Sangerhausen Rosarium in the GDR.....In order to check the matter, I called the Rosarium in Sangerhausen and asked for morphological material from their 'Minette'....a thunderstorm which destroyed bloom and buds of the variety however prevented the delivery. I then requested from Sangerhausen a description of the variety instead. This, supplemented with pressed leaves affirms in detail both the accuracy of the label and the full conformity between 'Minette' and our Swedish suionum. ...In the current season it was too late to receive grafting risers from Sangerhausen, but Cedergren's nursery is interested to get risers in the summer of 1985, so that one will have the opportunity to compare the provenances. However, the facts and checks presented above can be considered sufficient to conclude that the term suionum ...has been mistakenly added to the anonymous Rosa x alba 'Minette' Vibert 1819.
....Hylander and Nannfeldt (1945) write: A well-developed bush of suionum can attain 2 m height and become rather chubby, reminding from distance of some form of R. alba, closest Maiden's Blush, with which the bloom colour matches closely.
