A. Hill Gray (Alex. Dickson and Sons, 1911). — The veteran Tea Rose lover after whom this Rose is named deserved a good Rose, and I think he has got it ; in fact, I am inclined to call it the best yellow Tea in commerce. Its growth is good ; the colour does not fade as in the case of most yellows, but deepens in the older flowers ; the scent is there, and it is not easy to find a fault with it. The contrast with the foliage is noticeable ; it is, so far as I have grown it, mildew-proof, and altogether a first-class variety. I picked a beautiful flower of it on November 10. and it has been good all the season. It was awarded the gold medal of the National Rose Society at the autumn show in 1908, but was only distributed last year..... Southampton. Herbert E. Molyneux.
