The gardens are beautiful, well tended, and information/signage is very informative for self-led tours. However, the plant listings both here on HMF and on the CBG's own website are outdated. I was unable to locate over 50% of the roses they list as present in the gardens.

Be aware that many of the old garden roses are scattered throughout the park and not necessarily located inside the formal rose garden. One such specimen of Darlow's Enigma was fantastic. If you're looking for the AARS test plot, it is unlabeled on their map. You'll find it by hiking the bike trail to the "Sun Evaluation Plot".
