Moorna St Renmark, South Australia 5341 Australia
Ruston's sold cut flowers and budwood within Australia. It was formerly owned by David Ruston, now late; his private collection (see separate entry) was adjacent to Ruston's Roses.
Ruston's Rose Garden included the Australian Tea-Noisette-China Collection, begun in 2007, an initiative of David Ruston and Heritage Roses in Australia Inc.
The property suffered from being on the market for four years, and changes of ownership The current owners (Stoney Pinch Quarry, 2019), are maintaining the the Tea-Noisette-China bed, but the rest of the HRIA plantings were beyond salvaging, and the roses have been removed from the plant list.
The focus on the HRIA Collections at Ruston's had for some years been to propagate rare roses, to place in other public gardens as backup. HRIA's connection with Ruston's is to be negotiated (as of May 2024).
Varieties within the Collections which are not currently in commerce may be requested from some specialist Australian nurseries. Budwood has been available for purchase in the past but the current situation is not clear.
A focus of the business is producing various gins, including rose-flavoured.The property is now known as Ruton's Distillery.
As of 24 May 2024, the garden is not open to the public.
