Hi, Beth, is the original label still on this rose? There seems to be some thought that this rose was bred by "Winchell." I don't know who that is, but Joseph Winchel is a well known hybridizer. who patented a yellow hybrid tea, 'WINgold' that was introduced by Coiner, supposedly under the name SUPER GOLD. Marketing being what it is, these naming decisions can change over time. Can you shed any light?

Hi Cass,

I'd be more than happy to go out and check the tag on my plant, except that right now it's snowing again. (Yes, we do get snow in Northern CA!) I kind of doubt if it will have the codename on it, but you never know. I looked on Certified Roses' website and they don't offer much info on it there. And I don't see anything on the Recent Registrations list at the ARS website. Maybe you can contact someone at Certified Roses, since they are the supplier who introduced it.

I also have SUPER GOLD. It hasn't bloomed that much, but they are definitely different.

Beth

Thanks. It's a help to know it's a Certified Roses introduction. I'll check further.
